Special Educational Needs Department
“Moyne College aims to provide a service that facilitates every student reaching his/her full potential in a safe, caring atmosphere.” Moyne College is an inclusive educational establishment embracing equal opportunities for all. The school operates an inclusive approach to all students. We recognise that students present with a rich and varied range of strengths and needs be that exceptionally gifted, students with learning difficulties, students with disabilities and students who are at risk…in a personal, emotional, social or educational context or individuals who are otherwise culturally diverse. We cater for students who may require additional help or support to enable them to obtain the maximum benefit from school life. While educational excellence is encouraged and promoted, it is the needs of the individual learner that guides the development of the school and classroom. With this in mind, the school will endeavour to adopt educational approaches to provide for those who are most in need. The school strives to promote the holistic development of each student. The aim of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) department is to foster the ethos of additional needs by enabling pupils who require support for their learning to enjoy equal access to the curriculum as far as is practically possible. The promotion of self-esteem is an integral part of the students learning experience and is encouraged at all times..
